How to Add Another Yarn Ball in Crochet: Step-by-Step 

  • Step 1. Identify Where to Add Yarn  As you reach the end of your current yarn ball, crochet until you have about 4-5 inches left.

  • Step 2. Prepare to Add the New Ball Take your new yarn ball and place it next to your current work.

  • Step 3. Start the New Yarn Hold the new yarn next to the old yarn, overlapping them slightly. Start your next stitch using the new yarn, yarn over, and pull through the loops as usual.
